Otter chasing fish
Welcome!
Here you will find images of the ceramic sculptures that I create. Each piece is made by hand-building using an earthenware clay.
After the first bisque firing in a kiln to a temperature of 980 ̊C, the piece is decorated using coloured pigments and oxides and then a second firing at 1230 ̊C completes the making process.
Some clear gloss glaze may be used for added effect, especially to make eyes shine and sparkle.
I aim to capture a behaviour or distinct character for each creature I depict, hopefully with some humour in some instances!
